There's other no name brands that will give you more bang for your buck. I did buy a pack of those as well and they do the job too, but I particularly like one of the smaller metal plates this has that's basically the same size as the magnetic holder of the same Scosche brand in my vehicle. The other brand I have just comes with circle disc and a few rectangles rounded ones. I actually spray painted these plates white because my phone is white and I have a see-through case, so the black was kind of jarring and ugly without painting. Course would be perfect if I had a black phone or darker. Too bad they don't sell these in different colors such as forest green and white. But that would be difficult and I'm just a little anal. Works perfect, I'm able to have my popsocket on my phone and have this underneath my case, can still wirelessly charge when I remove my case, and doesn't add any bulk, can barely see it through my frosted see through case, especially after I painted it ??I checked before mounting these plates. Inside the case which looks much better, gave a weak strength grab. Outside the case gave a two hand grab just to remove the phone from the holder. I quickly broke the connection to my desk on the holder! Perhaps some tape to cover part of the magnet will get it to be more reasonable ? Otherwise, it works fine and nothing drops off for sure.Love this product my father actually liked it so I had to order one for him as wellMy husband found this brand and we love it! It truly holds up! We won’t use any other phone mount in our vehicles!Definitely follow the instructions regarding putting the plastic film on first. I did not do that on the first application and the metal plate did not stick to the back of my iPhone. The first time I put it on the magnet that I have in my car. The second go around I put the plastic film on first and then the metal plate. It adhered perfectly that time. Apparently the adhesive on the plate was not aggressive enough to stick to the very smooth surface of the phone. Other than me not following the instructions, this works very well.I like the fact that it comes with different size plates.I got the MagicMount some years ago as a gift, and use it in my car and on my home office desk. I had the plate mounted to my iPhone case, so when I replaced the case, I needed a new plate. The only negative (-1 star) is I have no need for the other small plates, so I wish I could have bought the large plate separately but I couldn't find that option (though I didn't look very hard).I thought they were going to be larger. They didn't work through my phone case so I had to put them on the outside of the case.I bought the kit originally about 6 months ago. It came with a pack of three plates, The medium was used in my partners iphone case, the large in mine as I had the iphone 6 plus. Recently I upgraded to the iphone 7 plus, and with that came a new case. I therefore had to purchase replacement plates.These arrived prompty and were branded correctly. I have used the largest plate in the my new phone case, and as before it works well and as expected. I stuck the plate to the iside of the phone case itself, to keep it invisible. Doing this has no effect on the reliability of the method by which it affixes to the in car stand.When I am in the car, I postion the phone landscape and it all but sucks the phone onto the stand. Works a lot better than I would have expected, and even hitting speed bumps a little too fast has not dislodged the larger phone at all.If you have devices that you want to mount, this works perfectly, and the pack of three means that different users of the car can all benefit. Having taken the case off, and tried to pry the plate up, it is securely stuck fast with no loss of ashesive that I can tell. You may not want to affix to your phone directly, but as a case insert, it's perfect.Having used the system for over 6 months, it hasn't let me down once. Not sure that I can think of any con's to this.The adhesive on these are terrible. The sticker on the back doesn’t say 3M on it so I’m not sure if it’s genuine 3M adhesive as the description suggests.Stuck the small plate onto a phone. I made sure to wipe the surface with alcohol and let it dry sufficiently before applying the plate.I even left it for 24hrs before using the magnetic mountThe adhesive isn’t very strong at all, the plate is sliding as the phone is held vertically on the magnetic mount.I would not recommend this product.This item works perfectly well and the colour certainly matches the iPhone.However the texture is different to the iPhone and as such it can look a different colour depending on the light.As you can see from my photos, if you put it on the back of an iPhone 6 Plus then you may want to choose to mount it horizontally rather than vertically. Vertical is not pretty as it is going to cover up some of the lettering. I'm assuming you won't be putting it over the Apple logo!Mounting it horizontally wasn't really an option for me as it interfered with the fit of my Apple leather case, made it bulge out too much at the sides. When vertical it is quite well hidden. I had previously had the black Scosche plate glued inside the case but as I swap cases often this was going to become an expensive endeavour.My suggestion would be for Scosche to produce a size of plate that is more suitable for the phone.Three stars due to size and texture.But it does hold the phone!The dimensions you give on the product are of the box not of the plates. They areminuscul! The larger one is smaller than the one I already have! I ordered yours thinking the larger one would be perfect. your advertising is very misleading. I would like a refund. ThanksI bought a Scosche holder three years ago, it comes with metal plate that is 6.6x4cm. I am willing to pay more to buy Scosche as the old plate really hold the phone well. Now, this package only include three metal plates that are 3x2cm, 3.2x2.8cm and 6.3x3.4cm. The smaller two are useless to hold any smartphone. Even the largest one is only 80% of the original size. There is no way to have a 'secure' hold as they claim unless you only do slow city drive.
