Let me start out by saying that I had just returned from a three week European vacation, during which time I had to hang onto my small Nikon camera by the wrist strap that I had on it. I was worried the entire time that I would lay it down somewhere, forget it, and loose the camera and all of the pictures that I had taken since I had last downloaded them to my laptop. My camera is light so I knew that it wouldn't bother me to have it hanging around my neck, and I liked the idea of being hands free and not having to worry about forgetting it someplace. I also like to keep my camera attached to me while I'm photographing so that it doesn't go over the side of a ship, rolling down a mountain, or just being dropped. When I got home I did a fair amount of searching for the item that I had designed in my head--and this turned out to be it. The lanyard is sturdy, and long enough so that when a photo op presents itself I can lift up the camera and shoot. It attached really easily to the camera, and the mechanism to detach it is very clever, and works well. It does not seem flimsy--I don't like flimsy. I now await my next trip to see how it works "in the field." I have high expectations that it will be just what I wanted. I also like the red, makes it much easier to see, black always seems to disappear.
