Like many others who bought Garmin GPS car units, I had a serious issue with powering the unit via usb in the house.I needed to do this so I could program in my routes, multi stops etc which is a lot easier to do indoors prior to a trip.After trying several adaptors etc that don't work I decided to try this unit.It worked immediately and I've never had an issue since. It's awesome!Now I'm able to fully charge the unit at home, program my trips and have the confidence that everything will be fine on my trip.An important note is that while charging the gps won't show the battery level, just the charging lightning bolt, but it's fine, the unit is actually charging. Just unplug it to confirm the battery's full after few hours.Recommended for sure.
