I like them because if the battery isn’t fully charged, they have enough power to charge it fully and then go into a maintenance state. No other trickle charger I found near that price would do that.Like ,motorcycleI live in one of the parts of Nevada that doesn’t stay warm all year. When it froze my brand new battery in my car decided it was too cold to charge! Being single, disabled, and a woman didn’t help trying to start a car that simply just wouldn’t work. My dad let me borrow his that is kind of like this one, but don’t tell him that mine is better! LOL I’ve had this one for a little bit now, and boy is it nice to know that my car will start each and every time because of this trickle charger! It truly is invaluable to me! I highly recommend it for your battery charging needs!First of all a float charger float's batteries at or around 12.9 to 13.2 some time's they will go to 13.8 It matter's what type of charger or float charger you have. This one doesn't. It take's your battery way past 14 Volt's. It's floating mine at 14.4 now those who are educated on batteries knows this is dangerous for the battery. This is a trickle charger and trickle chargers destroy batteries. Don't let the 400 ma full u. They say that this can't charge batteries well I charged one to test that theory and it charged a completely dead battery. I bought this because I needed to float my emergency solar batteries and my back up home batteries. I have true float charger's and like I said they float ( Matter's on what type battery ) between 12.9 to 13.2. I feel comfortably with mine around those Numbers and once a week I will float them with my good 10 amp charger at 13.8 for a couple of hour's like my charge controller does. The perfect float voltage is 13.68 13.65 that's what I learned from battery pro's. You can say different or disagree with me but your wrong. I know about batteries and u never float a battery over 14 Volt's and if u are your battery will suffer in the long run. Now this one claim's it floats at 13.2 that's why I bought it and I'm very disappointed.Got this for my Harley during down time in the garage. Seems to be working ok; at first there was no light when I plugged it in, but later green light came on indicating the battery is charged, and it seems to be. Have only had it a few weeks, so can't comment on durability. So far, so good....Bought a couple. Working well so far on the bikes with small batteries and brought up voltage overnight on a battery that was low. Time will tell for the one on one of our cars. The instructions were not the best (mostly due to alot of unnecessary information), but were understandable after reading twice. I would buy it again.Update and fifth star added: After also using this on a car that isn't used alot, I can confirm that it will maintain a car battery, not just the motorcycle batteries. This also revived a battery on one of the bikes that I thought needed replaced.Used all last year for winter storage and worked great This is a float charger, the device automatically turns off when the battery is fully charged and turns on again when the battery's charge lowers. The trickle charger, continues to flow a current to your battery until you remove the trickle charger. If you don't remove it periodically, it can burn your battery. I ruined a battery the year before. If you store a car for the winter, you can leave a float charged connected all year without issue. This charger is a perfect size, Alligator clips are not too big nor too small, compact unit and works as it should. very happy ! Seller responds quickly to questions, great support.Had the battery on charge for 5 days and it was completely flat when the charger was hooked up. Red light came on to indicate charging but removed the charger after 5 days red light still on.Left in car for another 5 days not hooked up just mounted in the battery tray. Tried to start car today and nothing ... Had to get a boost.H ad another on a CTC trickle charge for the same time. Havent tried to hook it up yet but will be interesting to see if it has enough to start the car. Probably 10 days till i connect that one up.I keep 8 different batteries topped up for things that I don't use all the time, including a couple of tractors, and ATV, a generator and a pickup. I bought this trickle charger for my wife's car since she is down South for the winter.I liked that the electrical cables are extra long and that the battery clips are much larger than my other trickle chargers. It works like a charm too.Flickering red light, product did not work. Nice manual but a bit misleading where it says: NEVER CHARGE A BATTERY THAT IS FROZEN OR DEAD.It defeats its purpose. We buy this product because we want to charge our dead batteries. Misleading. Other than that the manual is clear.
