The instructions were clear. I’m using this to hold my iPhone while using an app, golf launch monitor. The sturdiness of materials meets my needs. The Go pro adapter is an added bonus.I mainly wanted this tripod to take selfies with my phone and I read the reviews and they were great and the price was unbeatable. The mini tripod arrived yesterday and today when I tried to set it up the instructions weren't the best. It took me a while to figure out that I had to pull out the universal phone clip. Then it only seems to fit horizontally instead of my preferred vertical. The instructions say to push the button on the side to rotate 360 degrees but when I do that nothing happens. It seems like the button is permanently set so I can't rotate the ball which appears in a tilted way.The page says 24 hours service but you have to email Amazon as there is no phone number. Now my camera does fit nicely on the tripod and it is sturdy but I'm not happy that I can't use my cell phone for selfies and this was the main reason I ordered this product.ETA: 9/6/2019 After I initially wrote this review and sent an email to the Seller via Amazon they contacted me right away and sent me a new tripod and refunded my purchase price. The new tripod was 100% better than the first. I could easily push the button on the side to rotate the ball.For the price and the service by the Seller I'll up this review to 4 stars but I still wish I could take vertical selfies with this tripod. I've been watching Youtube videos to see if I'm missing something obvious and I'm not. I probably need to purchase an additional attachment which I won't. I'll just keep doing my selfies the old fashion way.I have 2 GoPro sessions, and have been looking for small tripods to mount them to so I can record tennis lessons with my daughter. These worked great, with the GoPro adapter already included so I don't have to. buy a separate adapter mount for the GoPro. In a single purchase I can use the tripod for regular cameras with the threaded mount, mobile devices like iPhones or Android phones, AND GoPro. Individually each of these two included accessories would have cost more than 1/2 the price of the tripod.It's an excellent, sturdy tripod for small-ish camera. Not designed for full frame, full size DSLR with large heavy lenses. Mirrorless with kit lens would probably work, but the foot print is really designed for small, none interchangeable lens cameras, phones, and PERFECT for GoPros.Already shot a couple of videos with the GoPro set up on the tripod near the net. With the small footprint and practically indestructible GoPros, this makes a great combination to set up at the base of the net, or under the hoop to capture footage from down low, or use to capture any sort of action sport where you want low, to the ground footage.Impressive with how sturdy these tripods are. I purchased two with the hopes I could use these to support my two surround speakers that are setting at the upper weight limit. Like champions, these tripods not only supported them, but are sturdy and not even straining under their weight like previous ones did after a short time! Previous ones began to bend and one even snapped though rated for the same weight as these were. They also add a nice clean sound to the audio!I will most certainly purchase a couple extra JUST in case something happens to these tripods so I can make sure I still have access to them if they ever are no longer available online!This little tripod is PERFECT for my use. In our office, we had a webcam attached to the top of the big screen TV on the wall, and it was very annoying for people on zoom calls to be looking down at us from above. Moving the camera down to this tripod made a HUGE difference! Now when on a call, the video participants see us looking more or less straight at them, and it most definitely improved the overall quality of our communications.All in all this is a much higher quality product than I expected for the price. This little tripod is strong enough to hold a dslr without concern. The legs are strong, articulate well and collapse down to be reasonably compact. The weakest part of this is the ball joint mechanism that allows the mounting bracket to be positioned freely. The release button is comfortable and secure but the ball joint will love if enough pressure is applied. With lighter weight equipment this is not an issue but I would be nervous with a heavy lens. My stock lens on my Nikon D3100 is still light enough to allow for secure placement but I wouldn't feel comfortable going much heavier. Great little mini tripod compared to others available at this price pointGreat stand. But I have it 3 stars because you can’t shoot in portrait orientation
