This phone is perfect for my hard of hearing brother. I could always tell when he called me that he did not understand what I was saying and I was having a hard time understanding him. I would end up hollering at him while my husband laughed. This phone not only makes it to where he can hear me but it makes his voice much clearer. I no longer have to holler at him when he calls which is much nicer for all around.Bought this phone for a 90- year old dementia patient with extreme hearing loss. The phone can be set up so that the amplification is one when the phone is picked up, which was necessary for this user. Now she can hear and so can I from across the room. I tried other phones before ordering this one and they simply did not amplify the sound enough for her. Now we can have a conversation on the phone. In fact, it may now be easier to talk with her by phone than in person. :)Note: As someone who have never looked for an amplified phone, I found lots that claimed to amplify about 20 dB. This would be enough for someone who has just started to notice they are missing a word or two here or there. 53 dB amplification is enough for someone who essentially cannot hear to be able to use the phone.I am very hard of hearing, because of loud noises.I worked on C N C numerical controlled by hydraulics for mechanical movement. Also was around Race Cars and Loud Engines, Nobody ever knew enough to wear "Ear Plugs" if I knew now back then I wouldhave worn Ear Plugs. For about 30 years I have been Handicapped because of Deafness, It has affected Me most of my life, in ways unimaginable ways. This Phone has helped me I think mostly because You can Adjust the Tone on the "Speaker" and on "Headset"I can listen to Public Meetings on Phone Hookup, and I can Hear most of Comments, and most "Speakers" Talks. The Clarity Alto Plus #54506 hasbeen A Blessing to Me and Listening to my Meetings and being Abel to "Hear", Thank YouVert difficult to program and figure outVery good Quality phoneBought this for my Mother in Law who has severe hearing loss and she can hear very well on this phone, sometime too well, but the volume is easy to adjust while in conversation. The ringer is also easy to adjust and can get quite loud if desired. The buttons are big, the handset is comfortable, any missed calls can be seen or heard or both with a missed call beep reminder and flashing lights on the phone. Easy to program favorite numbers, the caller ID screen is big and easy to read, but the best part of all is the customer support speed dial button in case she needs help with any programming or operating functions, they can tell her what to do, or program the phone for her over the phone without her getting involved. Outstanding and Innovative!Phone worked great. Used maybe 30 min a day . Just past a year the boost failed and no longer can hear . A year with little use just doesn't cut it. Come on figure this out people. Now im one month past warranty ! Eat this one lesson learned. So back to finding something that last a few years.I am very hard of hearing. The good thing with this phone is that I can hear the phone ring and I can see the numbers of the missed calls I got. I'm still trying to adjust the settings to suit my hearing. Right now it's still a hassle to take a phone call cos I still have a lot of difficulty making out what the caller is saying. But still it's the best phone of used since my hearing deteriorated. If things improve I will post an update. This phone is excellent for the visually handicapped a good buy.Offert en cadeau de la fête des mères. Ma maman peut enfin entendre clairement la voix des personnes pendant une conversation téléphonique. Elle peut ajuster le volume et la tonalité. Elle est enchantée de son nouveau téléphone. Je recommande vraiment cet articleI bought this phone for my 91-year old mom who is partially deaf. I have to talk to her "good" ear 6 inches away for her to hear. With the Clarity phone she's excited to re-connect with her friends over the phone. 5 out of 5-stars for phone volume and ringer loudness. The user manual is a little frustrating to understand. I rated it 3 out of 5 for manual's satisfaction - If all I need is to store numbers I do NOT want to know anything else about the phone please! This telephone has excellent voice amplification for incoming calls, even if you are suffering bad hearing loss this telephone should help you as it provides up to a maximum 53db voice amplification on incoming calls and is hearing aid compatible. The amplification levels for incoming calls and the sound of the ringer are fully adjustable, the frequency/voice tones can be adjusted or you can have overall boosting of all voice frequencies. The telephone can also be configured to remember your preferred voice amplification level. You can also plug in a headset or neck loop as it is hearing aid compatible. There is also the option to use a Bed Shaker. This telephone can also help those people who speak softly or are elderly and have a weaker voice as it can amplify the voice of the outgoing caller. It can also used as a hands-free speaker phone. Many telephones that have voice amplification provide much lower voice amplification. The numbers on the keypad are big and easy to read, the LCD screen display is satisfactory. It also supports Caller Identification/Caller ID But you must contact your telephone service provider and have the feature activated on your phone service.I am located in Australia and this telephone is compatible with Broadband Internet and it works well with the VOIP telephone system.I am amazed at how well it amplifies incoming calls.Be warned this is an American Import and comes with an American power cable and plug, so you will need to purchase a suitable power adapter or a Travelers Plugin Socket Adaptor. The only gripe I have about this telephone is that it only has 3 one touch dial buttons and can only store 10 more names/numbers in its phonebook.I am very satisfied with this telephone as I have hearing difficulty issues and this telephone has helped hear callers quite clearly. The phone was second hand. Peoples names were stored in the phone. The wrapping was done by a child. Not professional. The phone and my money is in the garbbage
