Updated the review following conversation with manufacturer's support, which I give 10 out of 5 stars for being so helpful. Raised the overall rating to four stars, only reflecting my concern that Amazon's product description should highlight this limitation of this (AND OF COMPETING PRODUCTS, which seem to share the low altitute constraint). As I mentioned originally, other than the altitude concern, I like this product a lot and recommend it for use below 6500 feet elevation. See message thread added at end of review.Despite this being a nicely-made product, the Owner's Manual discloses what the product description on Amazon does not make clear, that the charger is not to be used at elevations over 2000 meters, not even close to being as high an elevation as commercial airplanes are pressurized to. It seems like this makes it not the best choice for travel and is also surprising, considering that it is an "Amazon's Choice" product. Makes me wonder how they evaluate products. Don't plan to take it with you skiing for use in a hotel at the resort base or in an RV/car driving there. I'm trying to find out the elevation ratings on some competing products for comparison. This certainly seems like an unnecessary restriction, with proper design, and something that the consumer should not have to consider. Seems like UL or CE certification should cover that.------Hi... I’m writing because you left us a message on the product page complaining that this charger is limited to 2000 meters elevation operation. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. Reasons for limiting altitude: 1.Heat dissipation problem: the thinner the air, the weaker the heat dissipation ability 2. The internal pressure of the electrolytic capacitors: we live and work at low altitude, so this charger is also manufactured at low altitude. This means that the charger's electrolytic capacitors are also encapsulated at low altitude. Electrolytic capacitors generate pressure when they are in operation. At low altitudes, the air pressure can balance some of the internal pressure of the electrolytic capacitors, but as the altitude increases, so does the risk of bursting. 3. The 2000m altitude limit does not mean that the charger will not work at all at places higher than 2000m, but the risk will increase. It is for the safety of the user that we have stated the altitude limit for use. 4. In fact, not only our chargers, but any conventional charger on the market is not recommended for use at altitudes above 2000m....------Yes,... the information you supplied was very helpful.... Since I initially contacted Amazon and Baseus, I was able to get information from another manufacturer that confirmed that their competing product has the same limitations of 2000m for operation and storage. When I first read the fine print for the Baseus product, while I did not think about heat transfer being poorer because of less-dense atmosphere at higher elevations, I did, immediately, suspect that the product probably contains electrolytic capacitors and that they likely are the weakest point in the design for higher altitude use. Over the years, I've observed such failures in much larger products using analog power supplies,... so I'm aware of what those failures can mean. I really appreciate your taking the time to give me a better understanding of the issue.... My main concern is that purchasers be aware in advance of the limitations of your and competing products, and I hope that Amazon will make this clearer in the product description. My greatest concern is that, if someone were to use this type of product in an airplane cabin pressurized only 10000 feet or in a train traveling to Tibet, it could lead to a serious and life-threatening problem. I especially like the very subtle extension of the rounded tips of the folding power plug, sticking out just enough to be possible to push without protruding enough to be a puncture risk to other cargo. The case is beautifully crafted and has a nice feel to it. Best wishes....
