Good product. Not to hard to install if you know basic rv wiring. Power converter is very quieti bought this to replace mine in my north trail travel trailer. mine fried when the outlet at a camp spot was shorted out and shorted my inverter. It has worked well since i installed it. Important to buy a inline surge protector to plug in to prevent such an eventJust as describedReplaced burnt out converter Very easy to install.i replaced my existing power box in my camper with this model. minor differences. wired everything just like the old box. put the breakers and fuses in and connected the electricity. this new box solved an issue i had with my 12 volt lighting system turning off and on intermittently. sometimes would have to trip and reset a breaker to make them come back on and other times it would turn on and off on its own accord. with this new box all works as should. yay!!PERFECT replacement for my ELX-45. After reading all the shipping horrors of the product showing up broken I was really afraid to order this one but I was in a time crunch and it sounded like a good unit. The product showed up with no damage (but it definitely was packaged poorly for shipping from the manufacturer with only a thin card board cutout to support it inside the box).I was super happy with the install , I replaced my dead ELX-45 unit and everything matched perfectly- hole size, depth and even the mounting screw holes! The blown fuse LEDs and window are pretty cool. My ONLY slight gripe (maybe) is that it seems the cooling fans are current triggered versus heat. As soon as I turn on a couple lights I can hear the fans turn on and the more lights/appliances I turn on the faster they go.They are definitely NOT loud, sounds just like a computer power supply fan. But because they are current controlled, they run often, where as if they were heat controlled they only come on when the transistors got hot enough. Keep in mind though, this is a smart idea since the cooling feature is now proactive (cooling before the components get hot) as opposed to reactive (waiting until they are hot to try to then cool), this will probably be much better for the life of the converter. When I say I can hear them, I am being picky, it all depends on power used, no lights on or appliance draw= no fans, a few lights=very low speed fan and so on. I just installed the other day and will be heading out for a week long camping trip in a week so I will update when I see how it goes but seems like a great converter so far.Note: this converter does not come with DC branch fuses and AC branch breakers but you can use the fuses from the old one and most likely use the breakers from the old as well. Check the WFCO site and look up the manual, it will list all breakers this panel accepts. I have also included a pic of this info from the manual below.works greatI recently (February 2016) purchased a 2008 Palomino Puma 28 ft travel trailer. This was my first time purchasing a camper. I have never owned one before and considered myself a novice, at best. The previous owner bought the trailer brand new and maybe used it 10 times. The rest of the time, the trailer sat in the woods. After re-purposing the roof, servicing the water heater, flushing the water pipes, replacing the battery and replacing the tires we (my family and I) decided to take it on our first camping trip. After the initial hookup to the 30 Amp power supply, everything seemed to work perfectly. Then, after a day of camping, I noticed the lights started to dim. I used a battery charger to keep the lights working for the rest of the trip and started to trace everything with my multi-meter.After testing all breakers, fuses, lines and testing the converter box I finally concluded the converter was dead. So, I started calling around to three of my local RV repair shops and the lowest quote I could get for this power station was $278.00. I was also quoted $210.00 for JUST the converter. Luckily, trusty Amazon came to the rescue. I purchased this power center for $162.00 and installed it this weekend and it works amazingly! The install was not difficult to figure out, but it was a little tedious considering all of the rewiring and the tight spaces (I am not a small person). I started by drawing a small schematic of the existing box. I then used yard sale stickers to label each wire and breaker. I then removed every wire from the existing box, and breakers. After it was completely disconnected, I removed the old unit. After that, I switched out each breaker, fuse and then rewired the new box. Subsequent to the new install, the converter is now pushing 13.5 Amps straight to the battery and completely charged it within an hour. Success! I think after all my hard work, new understandings, experience and work, I can elevate my status from novice to competent and I hope to be well on my way to expert. Happy camping! :)Pièces endommagé lors de la réception.Plastique de mauvaise qualité très mince2 locket qui retiennent les fusibles brisésAll plastic like the original. Good fit. I needed a higher amp output due to installing a second battery into my RV. A touch noisy but for half the price of the next upgrade, and for camping works fine. Wouldn't want to live with the fan 24/7.It took only a few minutes to swap out the inverter with the previous one, which was over 10 years old. This item is exactly as described. I ordered it to replace my burnt out one in my trailer and this one just fit right in. It shipped quickly and arrived a day ahead of expected. I would order again.
